Marci Penner is the executive director of the Inman-based Kansas Sampler Foundation, and is an author, speaker, promoter and supporter of rural Kansas. Marci and her dad founded the Inman-based non-profit in 1993.
The mission is to preserve and sustain rural culture by educating Kansans about Kansas and networking and supporting rural communities.
WenDee joined the organization in 2006 as assistant director in charge of technology, social media, and working with the Big Kansas Road Trip communities.
In 2012 WenDee and Marci started a four-year journey to every one of the 626 incorporated cities in Kansas to research for Kansas Guidebook 2 for Explorers.
Some of the better known projects of the non-profit are the Kansas Explorers Club, the Big Kansas Road Trip, the 8 Wonders of Kansas contests and guidebook, the small-town grocery store project, the PowerUp Movement, as well as Kansas Guidebooks.
After looking in the nooks and crannies of the state and talking to countless people, Marci and WenDee are Fans of Kansas and look forward to sharing their enthusiasm for exploring Kansas.
