Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
Going to an apartment open house is normally a mundane experience, but when the open house becomes a hostage situation everything is turned up on its head. In a unexpected turn of events 8 strangers and a failed bank robber spend the day together. The high stakes situation opens up the strangers to talk about fears, hurts, secrets and find commonality with others thrown into this debacle. As the authorities and media surround the apartment these new found allies devise a plan that no one would expect.
Once again Fredrik Backman has written an insightful novel about the human experience. Ingeniously crafted humor, dialog, and characters make this a story about hope in the most anxious of times.
Due to be released September 8th this is a must read.
